Buffalo/Amherst Business and Professional Women (BPW) have two $500 scholarships available for women residing in either Buffalo or Amherst , who are currently enrolled in a degree program at a college or university in either Buffalo or Amherst , or related to a BPW Buffalo/Amherst member.

Scholarships will be granted based on academic achievement, extracurricular activities, community involvement, and career achievement. A letter from the applicant outlining the applicant's career objectives and two letters of recommendation must be provided. Current recipients:

• Carrie Silliman attends Canisius College for her MBA. She has a MS from UB and currently is a nurse practitioner at Roswell Park. She has been in nursing for 11 years and is a speaker at many healthcare industry events.
  
  
• Amanda Buckley attends Daemen College, pursuing a BS in Business Administration, with a focus on marketing. She's been on the Dean's list and currently has a GPA of 4.0. She has been active with DECA during her high school years, and currently works at Melissa's Coffeehouse in Williamsville.
